Ninian Park railway station serves the Leckwith and South Canton areas of Cardiff, which lies just outside Cardiff city centre.

The station, which is situated 1.6 km (1 mile) west of Cardiff Central, was opened when the City Line reopened to passenger services in 1987, using platforms previously used only for special trains run in connection with football matches. For this reason it has the longest platforms on the line, accommodating up to nine coaches, rather than two coaches as at the other three stations opened at the same time. The station appeared on Ordnance Survey maps from at least as early as 1946 until the early 1980s as a white circle, denoting that it was closed to regular passenger services. The station is located near to the current Cardiff City F.C. stadium and is adjacent to the South Wales Main Line, but trains on this route do not stop. The Cardiff Canton depot is also situated next to the station.

It takes 5 minutes to reach Cardiff Central and 14 minutes to reach Radyr.

There is no Sunday service.
