Grangetown railway station is a railway station serving the Grangetown district of Cardiff in South Wales. It is located on the Vale of Glamorgan Line 1 mile (1.5 km) south west of Cardiff Central towards Bridgend via Barry, Penarth and Barry Island.
Passenger services are operated by Arriva Trains Wales as part of the Valley Lines network.
This station was first opened by the Taff Vale Railway in 1882 and rebuilt with an island platform in 1904[1].
[edit] Services
There is a very frequent daily service northbound to Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street. With most services going onwards usually to Bargoed, Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil.
Southbound there are regular services Monday to Saturday to Penarth, Barry Island and Bridgend. Sundays half-hourly to Barry Island and two-hourly to Penarth and Bridgend respectively.
