User talk:N2orecords
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you want to get involved, but I'm afraid there's a problem with the article you created, N2o records. It did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Don't feel too badly; lots of people have a little trouble when creating their first article. You might find it useful to read Your First Article for some good advice about starting to create articles on Wikipedia. Two important rules of thumb are: Avoid writing about yourself, your business, your family and friends, or your web page, and avoid writing about anything that hasn't been written about in reliable sources like books, newspapers, and magazines. Anyway, don't be discouraged. I've deleted the article you created, and feel free to ask me if you have any more questions. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 17:23, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of N2o records
A tag has been placed on N2o records requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. ninety:one 21:44, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

- I removed the 'speedy delete' tag from the article. It needs a lot of work, agreed, but over a 100 releases in 11 years AND worldwide distribution is quite a notable achievement for an independent label. Channel ® 21:58, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

So far, all of your contributions have been about your own company. Under the conflict of interest guidelines, we all agree to avoid writing about ourselves or our own companies. Now that you know that you won't be writing about N2O Records any more, do you still want an account? What other kinds of edits do you think you're likely to make? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 20:59, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
Edits likely to be made (if allowed): non-promotional additions and corrections to artist names, credits, links to this page from other wiki pages where label is properly credited such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dj_starscream, corrections to titles that are noted on wiki as "out of print," addition of official discography, song titles, links to write ups by acceptable sources, and related factual non-promotional notable information, in essence, attempt to edit to correct the "needs alot of work" comment and format page to similar standards (if acceptable to wiki moderators) as other independent labels with a sizable discography such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninja_tune. If at all these kinds of edits are not permitted, we understand and accept your decision to not allow us to edit this topic.
