[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Qb45.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Qb45.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:52, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Flag of Mercosur

Hi there! I hope you don't mind, but I've overwritten your Image:Flag of Mercosur.svg with the file obtained directly from the Mercosur website, as the Mercosur regulations specify that Gill Sans be used for the flag text. Best, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 01:35, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Unquestionably an improvement, thanks! ›mysid () 08:24, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:PHP logo.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:PHP logo.svg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Save-Me-Oprah (talk) 19:04, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:1upmushroom.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. [edit] OMJ! (Oh minun Jumala!)

Pardon my shoddy Flag of Finlandsuomi, if applicable. I'm not exactly sure in what order I should've put those words.

But...

The Graphic Designer's Barnstar
Your vectors are freakin' awesome! I mean, I've never seen so many in one place! It sure as heck kills whatever I'm capable of doing with Inkscape...

Anyway, I, Antonio--er, Two One Six Five Five, award Mysid with The Graphic Designer's Barnstar for her amazing SVG work. Keep it up! Two One Six Five Five τ ʃ 21:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Thank you very much! :D I'm right now making a map of Mongolia but it's frustrating... anyway thanks for the barnstar. And we don't really use that saying in Finland, but instead "Luoja!" ("Creator!") or something. I'm not a Christian myself but I may still say "Jesus!" by reflex :-P ›mysid () 21:55, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Whoa, I thought you never found this message.
Anyway, no problem. You deserve it.

Thank you for changing the lanosterol skeleton image on the Steroids article from png to svg. Unfortunately, there is an error. [edit] Image source problem with Image:SIED logo.png

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:SIED logo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 15:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:SIED logo.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SIED logo.png.

Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 15:44, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] chromosomes

All of the chromosomes in the chromosome specific articles are upside down. The p-arm should be at the top, q-arm at the bottom. All of them need to be flipped vertically to be correctly represented. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.172.28.144 (talk) 13:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cquote

I have reverted your edit to Russell's teapot. In general, {{cquote}} is not to be used for blockquotes inside the text. See the template documentation, and the relevant section of WP:MOSQUOTE. Cheers, silly rabbit (talk) 15:23, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh okay, thanks for informing me. ›mysid () 15:50, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
No big deal. I used to do this too, and no one bothered to tell me that it was contrary to the MoS. I only found out when I happened to read the relevant MoS section. Oops! silly rabbit (talk) 21:01, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Alco logo.svg

Thanks for uploading Image:Alco logo.svg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --20:29, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for noticing – it wasn't really my problem though, as I had not added it into all the articles it was used in. ›mysid () 20:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
