- Who am I?
- I am a 31 year old Finland-Swedish engineer. I was born and grew up in Ostrobothnia, Finland. After graduating and working a couple of years in Finland, I moved to Uppsala, Sweden. At the moment I am mainly residing in Vindafjord, Norway, studying in Finland and will soon have a permanent address in Freiburg, Germany.
- What am I doing in the wikipedia?
- I am an administrator on the English and Swedish language wikipedias and also a member of the Swedish Arbitration Committee and I also have oversight rights on the Swedish language wikipedia. I write a lot of articles and I also do translations. My fields of interest varies much but my articles are usually connected to Finland in some way, or dealing with history, naval or maritime technology, science, and just about anything between heaven and earth that interests me at the moment (I also do occasional trips beyond these limits too :).
My first steps on the English language wikipedia were taken on April 28, 2005.
- The user name
- The signature "MoRsE" is my oldest alias on the internet, dating from 1993. The name originates from the TV-series "Inspector Morse", which was my favourite series at that time - the idea with the majuscule-minuscule typing was "borrowed" from a former classmate's signature.
- What are my opinions?
- I consider that the KISS principle and the Occam's razor are being abused all to often on the wikipedia. Remove clumsy coding and make it beautiful, but do experiment! Be bold!
- Projects that I am involved in
- Currently I am only involved in the Military history project (Military aviation task force, World War II task force and Maritime warfare task force). I am also awarding the MoRsE medal to those users, whose article/s or contribution/s I especially like.
- Featured articles
- I have been involved in the creation of two featured articles here, T-26 and Battleship.
- I can contribute to the following areas with greater expertise
- Geodesy, transformation mathemathics, measuring techniques, 20th century history, 20th century warfare/military technology, linguistical issues in Finland, geographical issues in Finland, technical translations English⇔Swedish⇔Finnish⇔English, and musicmanship.
