Maryland Route 146 runs through Baltimore County and Harford County. The route on its north end terminates at Maryland Route 23, and on its south end terminates in Towson. The road is named Dulaney Valley Road south of Loch Raven Reservoir, and Jarrettsville Pike from Loch Raven north to its terminus. MD 146 interchanges with Interstate 695 in Towson.
The road's southern terminus occurs at the Towson Roundabout. It is the only one of the three routes leading into the roundabout that does not continue past it.

The spire of Towson Methodist Church is a prominent landmark at the junction of Maryland Route 146 and Interstate 695.
