[edit] Task Force

Hi, Lychosis, just wanted to welcome you to the Silent Hill task force! Marasmusine 12:33, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Yes, Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) will be invaluable when cleaning up the items from Category:Silent Hill characters. Another concern of mine is Silent Hill influences and trivia, which tends to be a magnet for original research and, well, trivialities :> Marasmusine 08:45, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hi!

Please add {{db-author}} to the new hannah montana article. Crunch13 23:26, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

It was just really small and techanically you shouldn't have lyrics on it. Crunch13 23:39, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Haha, outstanding!

My talk page was vandalized for the first time! This is a milestone in my time as a Wikipedian. Dan 23:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your VandalProof Application

Dear Lychosis,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. Daniel 08:19, 23 June 2007 (UTC) Bold text

[edit] Hi Lychosis

I am really not happy about your intention of putting my fresh article to "Speedy Deletion" How do you have to decide what is good or not?

You do not even know what are the intention of the article!!

Have a look at this : [1], I believe this one a good for speedy deletion, no???

Before doing anything else, try to discuss.

[edit] hey

why did you request my article for speedy deletion but not that one the other guy (above) sent you. I am NOT happy. Drew I added a reference is it ok now!?

[edit] edit once

ok I can do that if you want me to.

[edit] R U serious

I didn't do any thing to you user page why are you saying i vandilized it. Look at your history, I am Amich45, that was 6532654326524309432687902 (or something like that).

[edit] Us Weekly edits

I agree that it wasn't biased, but some administrator kept removing the posts and I thought it was because of that section.

Thank you for reposting it though.

what you have to realize is that i dont HAVE to provide a valid point you do if you want it in the article. It takes the articles grade down and therefore its not gonna be in it.BlueShrek 18:29, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hey there

Hey, no one's useless! OK, well, what sort of stuff do you like doing? I see you've been reverting vandalism - there are some pretty useful scripts you can use for that, have you tried any of them out? Twinkle is one which a lot of people find very useful. Any particular areas you're interested in and might want to write articles about? There's a useful little bot called SuggestBot which leaves you suggestions about articles you might like to edit or create, you could check that out too. Let me know what you need, I'll try to help :) ~ Riana 04:19, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Well, there's plenty of WikiProjects around, have you checked any of them out? There's a list of them here. They basically help to bring together people who are interested in similar issues and areas, so that they can collaborate on articles. Basically, it's a pretty big place, and it's hard to absorb the finer details of it very quickly - I'm still finding stuff in corners ;) - but things like WikiProjects are good for getting to know people and policies better. I see that you were never properly welcomed, so if you don't mind, I'll leave you a list of links that I leave people when I welcome them to Wikipedia:
Basically it's important to have fun but not too much fun ;) If you're interested in gaming, there's a gaming WikiProject as well, you might want to check it out. ~ Riana 04:35, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | rangeblocks | unblock | contribs | deleted contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but an administrator has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock request while you are blocked.

Request reason: "Could you please change the block on the IP 142.176.46.3 to a softblock? I was forced to be inactive for a while, and was unable to edit, and would like to be able to do so again."

Decline reason: "You are autoblocked, please proceed per {{autoblock}}. — Sandstein 19:58, 16 August 2007 (UTC)"

[edit] Re: Hello!

The puppet master Wrestlinglover420 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log · rfcu) was given a second chance by a number of sysops since he apparently promised to end the disruption. However, he hasn't lived up to his word and seems to be continually bothersome to us good faith editors. Further, he is abusing of his chance and is well on his way of being banned, see here. I've been needing some last minute ideas or details right here and your statements could be of great help. There is a move request I recently started in this location albeit it seems to be going downhill. I'd like to know what will become of it and you're more than welcome to comment. Thanks for stopping by and all. Lord Sesshomaru 22:13, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I made a portal for Dragon Ball quite some time ago and I'd be so content if you would like to help upgrade it. Though it's still in the making, I aim for it to be as nice as the Naruto portal. If you're interested in how one is created, or if you want to see more samples to assist me, or for whatever else see WP:PORTAL. Regards, Lord Sesshomaru 22:22, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to WikiProject LGBT studies!

Hi, Lychosis, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

-- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 14:31, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Lychosis! First - I gotta ask - why the two names? What's with Warrush?
Second... Let's see... I recommend taking a look at Wikipedia:List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people/To be sorted. It's a huge job, but there are a few editors that have been working on a couple names a day.
The other thing to take a look at is Jump-a-class. It's a great way to get into a few articles and make them better. Or, if you have a second language, the translation department can use help.
Finally, no matter what, I totally recommend reading through the current talk page and at least one archive ago - at the very least to get a feel for what's been going on and what other people are doing.
Another way to get to know people is to add yourself to the Quilt.
Hope that helps! And if you feel like it, post a "Hello" message on the project talk page. -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 01:32, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Check this out - go to "my preferences" (probably at the top of every wikipedia page). Then take a look at the "Signature". Currently your signature has a link to "User talk:Warrush", specifically the "T" following your name. I suspect you copy/pasted it from somewhere :) -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 01:46, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
ROTFL! Glad you fixed it :) -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 01:51, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List Instructions

The basic idea is to take a name on the list, look at the article. Make sure it says in it somewhere that the person is LGBT - and most importantly that it has a reliable reference to something that states that. If you don't understand Wikipedia's policy on reliable sources, take a look at WP:RS.

If the article doesn't have a reference and/or doesn't state their sexuality, do some searching. I usually start with glbtq.com. Then I look in The Advocate (on their search form, make sure to select "from this publication" so it only searches The Advocate). If those don't have anything, I search in News.Google.com (make sure to check their "Archives" on the left) or Books.Google.com. If all else fails, I may search the web on regular Google.

When you find a ref, add it to the article. I recommend taking a look at {{Citation}} or {{cite web}} - both are great methods for adding refs. Though some editors prefer to add citations manually - I can never get my mind around what order the information goes in, which is why I use the templates.

Once the article is sourced and ready, then go to the appropriate List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people (alphabetical by last name) and add the person's information to the list.

For an example of all of this, let's take a look at Patty Schemel. The changes I made to her article can be seen here - notice I found a reference to her sexuality in OutSmart magazine. I added that citation (and did some other cleanup) and added the "References" section. Then I added her to the "S" list - here is the change I made. I find it easiest to copy a person's entry from the list, paste a second copy in the right place, then change the info for the new person. Finally, I deleted her from the "To be sorted" list. Voila! Done :)

That was probably a longer explanation than you thought you'd get. The pattern is pretty easy to do once you get the hang of it. What I recommend is to take someone in the "H" section (User:Dev920 is working on the "B"s, I'm working on the "S"s. Everyone else is grabbing random people :) ). So work on someone in the H section and see how it goes - and feel free to leave me a note if you get stuck anywhere or need any further info on how to do it. I will probably take off here for a little bit (a couple hours), but I'll check in again tonight and see if you've left me anything. And if it's just too overwhelming, no worries :) -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 02:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.

P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 05:00, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
