The station went on the air as KAYQ. On 1978-12-20, the station changed its call sign to KJLA. On 1992-10-12 to KFEZ. On 1997-03-03 to the current KPHN.[2] Prior to its current Radio Disney format, KPHN broadcasts Business News.
