[edit] Bebko-Jones

I hadn't realized that DYK had a controversy threshold. But seriously, thanks for nominating it. Unfortunately PA State Reps always manage to do something controversial. If you are still trying to find something interesting John Pippy is an article I had to save from the copyvio dustbin. This is a guy who announced his candidacy for state senate, got called up to Iraq and won the seat even though military rules barred him from campaigning for himself. Montco (talk) 05:08, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to second that thanks for the DYK nomination. Only like 3 of us work on the politicial articles in PA, so it is nice to have someone (even just 1 person) notice it.--RedShiftPA (talk) 05:20, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:LancasterNewspaper.PNG

Thank you for uploading Image:LancasterNewspaper.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 12:32, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Drake Well Museum

I did a major edit of Drake Well Museum today. Mentioned in the Erie Times News that it is getting $6 million for renovations in anticipation of 150th anniversary of the oil industry. Do you think we want it for WP Erie? It's in northwestern Venango Co. --Pat (talk) 19:03, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lancaster seal

Someone's done a version of the Lancaster county coat on the graphics lab. Thanx. 68.39.174.238 (talk) 03:09, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

Is the request you filed at the graphics lab (The one about the Lancaster logo) completed? If so, could you mark it as {{resolved}} ? Thanx, 68.39.174.238 (talk) 12:23, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vicki Van Meter interwiki language code

Thanks for pointing out why you had to revert. Apparently, German-language web sites lowercase the Van. The German interwiki was obsolete, I fixed it. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 21:26, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

According to WP:CITE#Citation styles, you do not change citation formats. I'm sorry you put that effort into the article. Gimmetrow 22:34, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Infoboxes

Since Christmastime I have been slogging through the counties of Pennsylvania and adding infoboxes to the municipalities. I noticed that you have also added some, namely to Crawford County and Erie County. Do you plan on completing Crawford and moving onto the other northwestern counties? If you are I will leave them alone. If not I will get to them eventually. Thanks. Dincher (talk) 16:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

I have no preference as to the type of infoboxes. The counties in the eastern part of the state have the geobox too. I will leave Crawford and Warren to you. I am working on Clarion County now. Dincher (talk) 18:45, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for getting Warren. FYI. Black Moshannon State Park is up for FAC. Dincher (talk) 02:40, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Are you interested in tackling Mercer and Lawrence Counties? Dincher (talk) 02:44, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for getting Fulton. Yeah the county is pretty much just ridges and valleys. Dincher (talk) 19:34, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for getting Mercer. I've been busy working on Beaver County, there are a ton of places there. I don't even want to think about Allegheny County. Dincher (talk) 21:44, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for getting Lawrence County. If your interested in doing more let me know and we can divide the rest to avoid bumping into each other. I am working on Bedford County now. Dincher (talk) 00:04, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I hadn't thought of asking the Pittsburgh folks for help. Good idea. Would you like to start out west and work your way east and I'll work on the central part. I think most of the east is already done. We'll keep each other posted at the Woodchuck. Sound like a plan? Dincher (talk) 00:27, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Score one for standardized measurement

I notice you inserted the template {convert|?|ft|m}} into a page I created. Somehow, I never came across this before, and have been googling "ft to m" like a chump. Thanks for inadvertently making my life a lot easier. Fullobeans (talk) 19:57, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Peer review request

Hi Dtbohrer, would you mind looking at the peer review for Black Moshannon State Park? User:Dincher is the main author and I have made some major contributions too. We are about ready for FAC, but have been trying to get one or two more reviews. We had a possibly familair model article on another Pennsylvania state park ;-). If you can't, no problem or worries, but if you can that would be great. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:04, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

  • Thnaks so much for agreeing to look at it and take your time, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:23, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DYK Nomination

Updated DYK query On 13 April 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Ligonier Valley Railroad, which you recently nominated. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

[edit] Black Mo thanks

Thanks for your peer review - Black Moshannon State Park made featured article!
Take care, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:33, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
  • We looked at the Presque Isle FAC to make sure we tried to address all the issues raised there before the Black Mo FAC, which may be why it went faster. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:06, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
    • I think Worlds End State Park, which is already GA, is next on the list. I am also going to work on Cogan House Covered Bridge. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:39, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
      • The eventual goal is to get all 21 parks on the "Twenty Must See" PA state parks list to at least GA. Do you know about the online NRHP information for PA at http://www.arch.state.pa.us? The form for Gudgeonville is here, although it is sparse on detail. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:30, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
        • Thanks for the offer - I have been to Pymatuming years ago, but not yet to Oil Creek. There are two guides to PA covered bridges - one with black and white photos, one with color photos. At least one is from PHMC. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 04:06, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
          • The color photos book is "Pennsylvania's covered bridges : a complete guide" by June and Benjamin Evans from 2001, there is also the PHMC's "The covered bridges of Pennsylvania : a guide" by Susan M. Zacher, 2nd ed. is 1994, also 1st ed. is 1986 with black and white photos. Zacher wrote the NRHP info for the Bradford, Lycoming, and Sullivan County covered bridges. You can also email the NRHP for the original of the nomination form - they send it to you free. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:36, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
            • Kinzua Bridge State Park is on the 20 Must See List. I know USer:IvoShandor was there and got some nice pictures before the bridge collapsed - I think most of them are on Commons. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 14:53, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Common units of measurement

Hi,

Thank you for adding a metric conversion to Warrior Rock Light. I am glad that you did that.

You also added the 'lk=on' option to metres and feet. I do not know if you are aware, but wp:overlink says that plain english words, including common units of measurement should not be linked. In a footnote, it gives examples including metre and foot. Such terms are high on the list of frequent links in Wikipedia. It is not a big deal, but I thought I would let you know.

Either way, I am glad that you added a conversion. Keep up the good work. Regards Lightmouse (talk) 10:55, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] USRD Newsletter, Issue 4

Hello, Dtbohrer. A new edition of the USRD newsletter may be read at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Newsletter/Issues/Volume02/Issue04. Apologies for the late delivery; my internet connection went down halfway through the delivery process. --Rschen7754bot (talk) 23:02, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Ohlhous

If you are into Erie and transfers to the Commons, look at User:Ohlhous/Erie Canal gallery. Howard C. Ohlhous created articles about each lock on the canal - see list on User:Ohlhous. But they got redirected and the images became orphans. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 03:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Erie Cemetery image

Let me know if there is anything I can do re license to the Erie Cemetery gate photo.--Pat (talk) 02:43, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] PARd participants list

As discussed at WT:USRD, the participants list at WP:USRD is being split by state. Since your name has only "PA" next to it, your name has been removed from the large USRD-wide table, and your name has been added to the PA-specific table. This is part of the lengthy process. If this is in error, please let me know immediately. Regards, Rschen7754 (T C) 05:14, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Worlds End State Park

Ruhrfisch and I are working on Worlds End State Park for hopefully FA status. It's currently up for Peer Review. Could you take a look at it for us? Dincher (talk) 14:51, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
