Dexter Reid (born March 18, 1981) is a safety currently a free agent in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Patriots in the 4th round of the 2004 NFL Draft after four years playing for the North Carolina Tar Heels. When Colts linebacker Rocky Calmus was injured, the Colts signed Reid, who had recently been released by the Patriots. On February 21, 2007, the Colts waived Reid.

Reid pleaded guilty in January 2008 to drug charges in Virginia Beach, VA. The charges derived from a March 2007 incident. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He faces up to 10 years in prison and has weapons charges related to a second incident still pending.
