Welcome!

I'm a bit confused about disambiguation (see Rings page). When you have a word like "rings", I get confused about creating a stub for MY version of the word. What is the code??

Buddpaul 19:56, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

The usual standard is to use Ring (your version), where 'your version' can be for example marriage, engagement, jewelery, and so on. Hope this helps :) Bjelleklang - talk 20:41, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Rings (local IBM clubs), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SUBWAYguy 21:32, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Rings (local IBM clubs), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. —Pilotguy (ptt) 02:29, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry the article was deleted before I was able to reply to your message. In the future, it's probably best to have the article more fully fleshed-out before you submit it to Wikipedia. I hope you can contribute more in the future. SUBWAYguy 03:02, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Magic articles

Hi there Buddpaul,

I noticed you've made some contributions to magic-related articles and I'm hoping I can encourage you to continue your efforts. I've recently taken an interest in "WikiProject Magic" and I'd like to revive it and get more people actively involved. I'm fairly new to Wikipedia myself but I've learnt quite a lot quite quickly. If I can be of any help at all drop me a message on my Talk page.

[edit] Category:Nursing Homes in the United States

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Nursing Homes in the United States, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Nursing Homes in the United States fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Empty category

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Nursing Homes in the United States, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Category:Nursing Homes in the United States itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:58, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Mark Horowitz (magician) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Hi there. I was sent a message by MacGyverMagic about something concerning you, but I'm just curious, why do you have a copy of my sandbox on your userpage? I can see the need if you are planning to work on these articles, but otherwise I can't understand why you have done this.

As I say, I'm not worried or anything, just curious as to why you've done this. Bobo. 11:39, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Cool stuff - don't worry, do anything you want with whatever you want there, and if you want any help with any editing that you don't understand, feel free to send me a message. Bobo. 18:14, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] League of Copyeditors roll call

Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there.
The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors.

[edit] List of Farm to Market Roads in East Texas

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article List of Farm to Market Roads in East Texas, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
