Aasi (clan)

Aasi (Urdu:آسی) is a subtribe of the Punjabi Rajput/ Jatt clan: the Chadhars of central Punjab. Aasi people are mainly settled in the districts of Sargodha, Jhang, Mandi Bahauddin, and Sarai Alamgir tehsil of Gujrat District . In Jhang District they mostly inhabit the left bank of the river Chenab in Chiniot Tehsil.

Aasis are also the rustic denizens of the rural hinterland of Sargodha District in general and Bhalwal Tehsil in particular. Uppi Rawana is one of the major hamlets of Aasis.
