Kainth is a caste of people found mostly in Punjab. Most Kainths are Sheembas/Darji but Kainths are also found among the Chamar caste. Traditionally, members of this caste have been tailors and since this is an occupational caste, it is very likely that members come from other castes.
[edit] Bahujan Samaj Party (Kainth)
The Bahujan Samaj Party (Kainth) is a splinter group of the Bahujan Samaj Party in Punjab. BSP(K) was founded on October 30, 2004. It is led by Satnam Singh Kainth (ex-MP and ex-president of Democratic Bahujan Samaj Morcha).[1] Kainth had re-joined the BSP ahead of the 2004 Lok Sabha elections but was later expelled.
