Hashemi (Arabic: هاشمي) is a clan of the Meccan tribe , the Quraysh, (Arabic: قریش ) to which Muhammad belonged. It is where the Hashemite in "The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan" comes from. Hashemi signifies Arab ancestry in Middle East and South Asia. People with the name Hashemi include:
