Windows Live Translator is a service provided by Microsoft as part of its Windows Live services which allow users to translate texts or entire web pages into different languages. Computer-related texts are translated by Microsoft's own statistical machine translation technology for eight supported languages, including the translation from English into: German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese (simplified and traditional), and Japanese. Translation for other areas and between other languages is similar to other translation services such as Babel Fish which uses Systran as its backend translation software.[1]

In addition to standard text and web page translation, Windows Live Translator includes several additional features:
- Some languages will offer users the option of producing a translation that is optimized for computer-related text
- When translating an entire web page, or when the user selects "Translate this page" in Live Search results, the Bilingual Viewer will be shown which allows users to browse the original web page text and translation in parallel, supported by synchronized highlights, scrolling, and navigation
- Four Bilingual Viewer layouts are available:
- Side by side
- Top and bottom
- Original with hover translation
- Translation with hover original
- Add-in for website owners to add a drop-down menu to their website for translating it into another language supported by Windows Live Translator
