Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Collaboration
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome to the Military history WikiProject Collaboration of the Fortnight! This effort seeks to identify articles within the field of military history—including wars and battles, military units, biographies of people connected to the military, forts and other military structures, and many others—that require improvement. Every fortnight, a single article will be selected as the collaboration, and everyone will work to improve it as much as possible.

[edit] Colombian armed conflict (1960s–present)
Americas' forgotten war, is also a forgotten war in wikipedia. The Military of Colombia; Colombian National Army, Colombian Air Force and Colombian National Armada (Colombian National Police need immediate attention and help. The other major actors FARC-EP, ELN guerrillas and the AUC paramilitary. Lots of battles, lots of massacres, many failed peace processes, anyone up to an epic collaboration? [edit] Military of the Ottoman Empire
The article is a mess. Does not provide any structure or relation or time frames for any of the units. It really needs to be re-written, starting with a master-plan that has some way of incorporating the changes that occurred in 7 centuries to the military organization. The width and depth of the topic is so big that I think it needs some discussion and a plan worked out and might be too big for a single editor to tackle.

[edit] Maintenance
At the beginning of every fortnight, a new collaboration article should be selected. This should generally be the candidate with the most support (and the oldest candidate in case of a tie).
To archive the current collaboration:
- Remove
current-collaboration=yesfrom the {{WPMILHIST}} banner on the current collaboration article's talk page. - Add the current article to the bottom of the history section.
- Move the current article's nomination text to the archive.
To select the new collaboration:
- Move the new article's nomination text to the "Current collaboration" section.
- Update Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Collaboration/Current to point to the new article.
- Replace
collaboration-candidate=yeswithcurrent-collaboration=yesandpast-collaboration=<start date>–<end date>in the {{WPMILHIST}} project banner at the top of the new article's talk page.
