[edit] Scope

This WikiProject aims to coordinate development of new articles as well as improvements to existing articles related to Louisville, Kentucky and the surrounding metropolitan area, consisting of thirteen counties in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Since the Louisville city article is already a Featured Article, this project also aims to make that article even better. Last, but not least, this project also supports and drives content for The Louisville Portal.

This is an open project that is coordinated by all its members. Its open tasks are a compilation generated by many of its members. All concerns with elements of this project should be discussed on the project talk page.

[edit] Article development

Wikipedians and especially WikiProject Louisville members are encouraged to continue developing any articles of their choosing that are (or should be) covered by this project. The following pages suggest articles that have a special priority for addressing.

[edit] Change patrol

To ensure that all changes to Louisville-related pages are sound, here are "recent changes" pages to aid in that endeavor:

[edit] Miscellaneous

  • Continuous: Keep Louisville, Kentucky as compact as possible, moving as much details into sub-articles as is reasonable.
  • Continuous: Ensure that all Louisville-related articles are properly categorized and catalogued for the project.
  • Continuous: Ensure that all links going to the main Louisville article are disambiguated, especially to ensure that links to 'Louisville' aren't instead meant to go to University of Louisville.
  • Continuous: Ensure that all Louisville-related articles that get frequent changes or are susceptible to vandalism are listed in the Project Watchlist.
  • Target additional Louisville-related articles to take to Featured or Good status.
  • Consider the development of new Louisville-related infoboxes and navigational templates.
  • Create a "WikiProject Louisville Fleur-de-lis Award" (suggestion) to honor exceptional contributions to articles catalogued by the project (See WikiProject Philadelphia's Liberty Bell).
  • Develop a guideline for creating new Louisville-related articles.
  • Come up with some kind of approach for prioritizing work in the project (e.g., collaboration of the week or top ten list).
  • Develop a collaborative methodology for determining when to assess an article as an 'A'.
  • Possibly establish an "Outreach" department.
  • Possibly develop specialized task forces for members interested in specific topic areas (e.g., Government or Sports).
