Mission Statement: "Recognizing that academic achievement without compassion and concern for others is meaningless, we are committed to purposeful involvement in the world outside our school in both the local and the global community."

The school competes in several sports, including cross-country, crew, field hockey, golf, and soccer in the fall, basketball, hockey, and skiing (alpine and Nordic) in the winter, and baseball, crew, lacrosse, softball, and tennis in the spring. In fact, the school has more athletic offerings and championships than any Class S school in New Hampshire.

Established in 1964, this private day school is well known around New Hampshire for academic and athletic achievements. Derryfield's motto is respect, kindness and integrity. Its school colors are maroon and white. Being one of the most expensive day schools in New Hampshire[citation needed], Derryfield's 2007-2008 tuition has been recorded as $21,750.[1]
