Just to introduce myself, I'm DougOfDoom. Yes, Doug is my real name, and no, I am not an avid fan of the Video Game series called Doom, the username is a joke between my IRL friends and myself.

A political junkie and history buff, I've been using Wikipedia for several years now but was to lazy to make an account until mid-2005. I edited anonymously before that, and sometimes still do, though usually by accident. I am a student of history, particularly American, Roman and Ancient Greek (including Classical Mythology, Latin, and the Ancient Greek language), with some British, Israeli, and general European. I'm also a fan (and collector) of movies, particularly comedy and action, and of several movie and/or television series, including The West Wing, Austin Powers, 007, and myriad other individual movies. I also read plenty, though I won't go into that here, except to say that I enjoy Harry Potter enough that I may occasionally contribute to related articles.
