Sylhet International University (SIU) is a private university located at Shamimabad, Sylhet, Bangladesh. The university was established by The Private University Act 1992.^[1] SIU is affiliated by University Grants Commission Bangladesh.

Vice Chancellor: Professor Dr. Sadruddin Ahmed Chawdhury , former president of Bangladesh Physical Society(1995-1996) and The first vice chancellor of SUST.

The American corner, a joint venture of SIU and the American Embassy, is a unique attraction of SIU. Its membership is open for all and the member get the benefits of a rich library, computer, Internet Access, materials for TOOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT snd guide for study with scholarship in USA.
