The Swedish cricket team is the team that represents the country of Sweden in international cricket matches. There are currently 11 clubs playing in the national cricket league of Sweden.
They became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council in 1997. [1] They took part in the ECC Trophy, a tournament for European affiliate members on two occasions. They reached the semi-finals in 1999, but 2001 saw a downturn in fortunes and they came in last in the ten team tournament. They have recently resumed playing internationally after a several year hiatus. They are currently scheduled to take part in Division Four of the European Championship in 2009, where they will play Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Hellas (Greece).
