[edit] About me

[edit] Personal information, fit for public consumption

I was born on the 31st of August 1979 in Blackburn, Lancashire. I lived in the nearby small town of Clitheroe until the age of 18, and attended Clitheroe Royal Grammar School and Accrington & Rossendale College.

I have lived in Huddersfield since attending University here in 1998 (with a brief stint back home in Clitheroe). I met my wife Briony here, and got married in June 2006.

[edit] Interests

[edit] Sport

Sport is my main interest, although I am much more of a watcher than an active participant.

[edit] Cricket

Cricket is my main passion, instilled in me by my late step-grandfather whilst watching Graham Gooch scoring 333 against India in 1990. I have loved the game ever since. I support Lancashire domestically, and England internationally.

I am the kind of person who knows exactly how the game should be played, despite the fact that the game has yet to see my unique batting style and my lethal spin bowling at the highest level. (/sarcasm)

I contribute on Wikipedia primarily to articles about the non-test nations of the game, run a blog on the subject, and I am the editor of the Bermuda and Worldwide sections on CricketEurope.

[edit] Rugby League

Living in Huddersfield, the home of this great sport, it is pretty much a legal requirement to be a Rugby League fan. I, however support the Wigan Warriors, as that is the team my Dad supports, and watched the Challenge Cup final at the old Wembley Stadium in 1992. I also once saw Martin Offiah score 10 tries against Leeds in, I think, 1993.

I think that a search for Rugby on Wikipedia should automatically direct to the Rugby League page, as League is the true form of Rugby.

[edit] Soccer

I used to be a big fan of this sport, but have gone off it in recent years, as the game has become increasingly dull. I propose a lifetime ban for players who dive, to stamp out diving from the game, which should make the game a hell of a lot better.

[edit] Other Sports

I also follow Ice Hockey, American Football and Baseball

[edit] Other interests

I also enjoy surfing the internet, and have wasted many hours on Wikipedia for months before I started contributing to the site.
