Showa Station

Showa Station (昭和基地 Shōwa Kichi), also sometimes spelled Syowa^[1], is a Japanese research station located at 66°00′S, 39°35′E in Antarctica. It is named for the era in the Japanese calendar during which it was established, the Showa period.
