[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:CloyceBoxRanch.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CloyceBoxRanch.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Image source problem with Image:AFJROTC.png

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:AFJROTC.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:03, 12 October 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] SCV

Hi. I do not doubt the factual accuracy of the phrase you added, nor do I believe it was vandalism. Rather, as I noted in my edit summary, the source cited does not discuss the issue of race at all. It does not say that SCV consists of only whites, nor does it say that the SCV is open to all races. It just doesn't say. We have to back up claims in articles with reliable sources. If a reliable source, a newspaper article, for example, discusses the racial makeup of the SCV, it would be appropriate to add information from that source to the article. However, aside from citation to a reliable source, the phrase probably should not be in the article per Wikipedia policy. There might also be a question about the placement of the phrase, as well, given that it might be more appropriate to mention it at a different point in the article. Thanks. · jersyko talk 20:08, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

You're on the right track with this addition, but unfortunately are now bumping up against a different Wikipedia policy: no original research. For example, your addition uses two sources to draw an explicit assumption, thus it is original research. Again, I think you're on the right track. Try, though, to find an article about a black member of the SCV or an explicit statement from the SCV that it is open to all races, for example. I will not remove the material you added that qualifies as original research for now, but do try to replace/reword it in the manner I've suggested. Thanks! · jersyko talk 20:48, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Please don't include the names of individual people unless you can verify their notability. See WP:BIO. Thanks, Deiz talk 07:18, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Apologies if I'm not making myself clear. Named individuals should have an existing Wikipedia article. You can see how the list of members on the article satifies this requirement. Membership of the organisation, and proof of their membership, does not verify notability. Forgive me for being blunt, but please do not add these individuals names until they have separate Wikipedia articles. Should you edit again without reference to WP:V and WP:BIO, you ability to edit may be restricted until such time as you demonstrate understanding of the relevant policies and guidelines. [edit] License tagging for Image:LISA LOGO.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:LISA LOGO.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:06, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:CSA1Sergeant.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:CSA1Sergeant.JPG. The copy called Image:CSA1Sergeant.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 07:14, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EmeraldSocietyLogo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:EmeraldSocietyLogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:47, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Louisiana zip codes

Hey Sf46, it looks like you're trying to create redirect pages for zip codes in Louisiana to go to the appropriate city, but I don't think you're doing it right. I've fixed a few of them (I think). You might want to go and and look at those and see if that's what you were going for. If it wasn't and I screwed up whatever you were trying to do, I apologize. But I don't think that's the case. :) Cheers, faithless (speak) 05:38, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do, maybe I don't know how to do the redirects right. User:sf46 00:41, 2 November 2007 (CST)

Put #REDIRECT [[Such and such, Louisiana]] in the zip code article. Hope that helps. :) faithless (speak) 05:48, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I think I have it now, thanks. User:sf46 00:50, 2 November 2007 (CST)

No problem. faithless (speak) 06:26, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Louisiana State Police

OK, I will take your word for it in relation to the color of LSP insignia. I left Louisiana many years ago and perhaps my memory isn't what it used to be. Also, I looked on the LSP sight, and all the insignia appear gold - including the Majors and Lt Colonels. Perhaps you could let me know what I am missing. I am not trying to screw up the article. Thanks SGT141 19:58, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes, the color of the eagles on Colonel Griffin's lapel do "appear" to be gold colored in that photo on the lsp website, but they are actually silver. You may be thinking of Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries whose rank are ALL gold except for the colonel & lt. colonel which are silver. User:sf46 14:03, 6 November 2007 (CST)

Yeah, it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it. Laws can't be broken. I delete them according to policies, and clearly state and link to the policies when I delete them, but most people don't understand US copyright fully. [edit] Uniforms of the United States Navy

Thanks for adding the bit about rank insignia color. Note, however, that you marked your recent edit as a minor edit - please keep in mind the criteria for a minor edit "A check to a minor edit box signifies that only superficial differences exist between the current and previous version: typo corrections, formatting and presentational changes, rearranging of text without modifying content, et cetera." While your edit is certainly accurate, it also adds substantive material to the page, and thus shouldn't be marked minor. CruiserBob (talk) 04:03, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Airman! Are you ready for this? I have 16 ranks on you, American! Or as I like to say Sergeant, I have 10 ranks on you. I am Canadian, so we have fewer ranks than you, but if you can discern it, I am a Colonel to you, or a Colonel to me. Congratulations on getting as far as you did! Dreamafter 19:40, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I enjoyed flying with the members of the RCAF (both officer & enlisted aircrew) that were detached to the unit I was in. I enjoyed the time spent at BFC Baggotville as well.Sf46 (talk) 19:58, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mascots

Which living ethnic groups, aside from American Indians, are being used as symbols? Vikings, for example, are strictly a historical ethnic group of sorts. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 13:38, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, there's Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the University of Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns, University of Northern Colorado Fighting Whites intramural team and the Vancouver Canucks to name a few. There's a link to a parallel page that provides a more complete list: List of ethnic sports team and mascot names. Sf46 (talk) 13:59, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes, nearly all of which named their teams after themselves in some sense, as opposed to naming their teams after somebody else who have no political clout to do anything about it. That's the distinction that the Indian mascot apologists keep conveniently ignoring. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 14:07, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Well you know that the college Jim Thorpe went to had an almost exclusively American Indian enrollment. Their team was the Carlisle Indians.
Yes, the school itself was the Carlisle Indian School, so it was fitting that the team was the Carlisle Indians. Among current schools, the FSU Seminoles are among the few that actually got permission. Most of them usurped their symbols. I find it funny how some have tried to distance themselves. Like the Syracuse Chiefs using a train, apparently ignorant of the fact that "Super Chief" trains referred to Indians. FYI, I am not on the political train demanding removal of these names. I just think the hypocrisy needs to be pointed out and that this issue will fix itself over time. And also by the way, I can't think of a much worse actually-used nickname than the one formerly used by the Pekin, Illinois High School teams: the "Chinks". Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 14:29, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
To put it another way, "groups" are not offended, individuals in the group may be. Maybe some of Irish descent don't like the "Fighting Irish" name. I've never heard of any being offended, but they have the right to be. That doesn't mean the school should accommodate them. It may be that not all Indians are offended by the use of Indian nicknames. It may even be that some actually like it. But for white folks like Limbaugh to tell them they should not be offended... is offensive. No one has the right to tell someone else how they "should" feel about something. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 14:54, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

If you followed my RfA you know what happened. Most of the editors who posted opposing opinions have never edited with me. Some articles I edit deal with controversial topics and with respect to a very few of these, editors who didn't know much about me had some worries about confrontational editing and civility. Since I support their high standards I can easily (and will gladly) address this. The support and ecouragement to run again soon has been wonderful, thanks again. Cheers! [edit] License tagging for Image:Rhodesia Flag 1965 - 1979.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Rhodesia Flag 1965 - 1979.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:07, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi! Unfortunately, one of missions here is to foster the growth of free content, and as such non-free images of living persons generally aren't allowed (see WP:NFC, section "unacceptable use"). If you have a line to the governor or have a personal picture, could you please try to get it released under a free license such as the GFDL or CC-BY-SA? [edit] Johnny Rebel

I appreciate that you were trying for neutral wording, but some of what you were doing is not the way to go about it. First off, the guy's only claim to notability is a couple of songs he recorded decades ago, which were quite objectively racist (they exalt one race and denigrate others). All of the sources say this or something very close to this. Your changes to the diambig page introduced syntax errors and made it unclear why exactly the guy was notable - what exactly are "racially charged issues"? It's much clearer to note the racist character of his songs. And when I called your changes to the singer's page weasel words, that means a very specific thing - a word used to avoid making a straitforward statement - who are the "many" who deem his music racist? Such words only give the semblance of neutrality. This isn't a statement of opinion, but of fact - he is a racist by the definition of the term, and I imagine he'd want to be known as that. If you want to discuss this further, I suggest you bring it up on the talk page so others may weigh in.--Cúchullain t/c 05:03, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

I already explained why the adjective is appropriate, and why your changes were not. And the CSB box states that I'm a member of a WikiProject about Countering Systemic Bias, that's a very specific thing.--Cúchullain t/c 05:03, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:MaryLParkerPhoto.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:MaryLParkerPhoto.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. [edit] Southern Cross of Honor

Thanks for putting some references in and cleaning that one up a bit. I've seen the same basic information you referenced in my own searches, but I've been unable to find the actual Confederate Congress act or any detail on those whe were on the AIG's Honor Roll. Have you come across either of these or at least what the primary reference is for each? The actual original wartime list would be great for distinguishing them from later UDC awards. I've seen people posting about award winners (often listed as "Confederate Medal of Honor") but I strongly suspect all those posts are really about UDC awards. Red Harvest (talk) 06:03, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

I've seen a link somewhere to the actual list as awarded by the Confederate Congress, but can not for the life of me remember where. I'm pretty sure it was attached to some individual SCV camp website. Sf46 (talk) 15:18, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 2nd Maryland Cavalry, CSA

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2nd Maryland Cavalry, CSA, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.2ndmdinfantryus.org/cscav2.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. [edit] Missouri & Kentucky Secession

Hi, Sf46. Thank you for your response. That's what I understood, too, which is why I am of the opinion that the animated GIF is inaccurate and should be fixed. In its current incarnation, the map makes four statements which contradict other Wikipedia pages, and as far as I can tell, are untrue. Those statements:

— October 31, 1861, Missouri secedes
— November 20, 1861, Kentucky secedes
— November 28, 1861, Missouri joins Confederacy but never under CSA control
— December 10, 1861, Kentucky joins Confederacy, but never under CSA control

This information is so far from the truth that anyone who read it (and didn't know better) would come away with a completely incorrect understanding of what actually happened in those states. While it is true (as you said) that rump governments did secede, they didn't represent or control their states, and had no authority to secede or join the Confederacy. On that basis, I think the map should be corrected.

What do you think?

-asx- (talk) 18:36, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

From what I've read, the Confederacy may have controlled a few counties in each of these states, and each state did have Confederate Army units. Perhaps for a simple fix for now, a note of "(rump government)" could be added next to each state's secession in each of the articles you talk about. Sf46 (talk) 18:53, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:E4ranksa.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:E4ranksa.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

[edit] Storm trooper image

I removed that storm trooper image from the article because the use of the free image invalidated the non-free's fair use rationale by criteria #1 and #8 from Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. Seraphim♥ Whipp 02:28, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Even though the free image you posted does not depict the subject matter as well as the other two, I think you were right to replace the first image with a free image. The second photo is in the history section and depicts the subject with the Star Wars logo thereby demonstrating its significance in the movie as well as the history of the subject. I think it ought to stay unless a free replacement could be found for it. Sf46 (talk) 02:35, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't think it demonstrates any more significance just because it has the logo in. These costumes are rather well known so they don't really need the logo to help the reader recognise what the costume is. The context is also provided on the page. Another point is that the nuances of the costume depicted aren't discussed in that prose. The free replacement represents the same content of the non-free. Seraphim♥ Whipp 02:52, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
My post to you was civil and informative. I cannot understand what would have "rubbed you up the wrong way". Seraphim♥ Whipp 02:57, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I've uploaded a new photograph that I wasn't actually going to use. It has the Star Wars logo in the picture so I hope this satisfies your concerns :). And if you want to oppose me that's fine. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ArleneHowellMissUSA.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:ArleneHowellMissUSA.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Image:SallyMugabe.JPG

Hello. I see you have included a {{PD-self}} tag with this image. Unfortunately, this is not acceptable, at least not unless Zimbabwe stamps from 1992 are legally in the public domain. As an analogy: if I go into a video shop and take a photo of a DVD cover, that does not allow me to upload said DVD cover to Wikipedia as PD-self. The copyright in the image remains with its original owner. Same here. Since Sally Mugabe is no longer alive, I think there may be a case for a fair-use justification, but you need to provide that in full. As it stands, the picture is not likely to be acceptable. 86.132.139.152 (talk) 19:45, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I have performed a web search with the contents of 2nd Maryland Artillery, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.2ndmdinfantryus.org/csart2.html.

If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 02:39, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of 2nd Maryland Artillery

A tag has been placed on 2nd Maryland Artillery requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Your "page move" of 2nd Maryland Artillery

Please do not "move" pages by simply pasting them in a new article name, as you did with 2nd Maryland Artillery. Copying-and-pasting destroys the page history which must be preserved for any article. In addition your blanking of the 2nd Maryland Artillery page could have been misunderstood as vandalism and reverted.

In future, to move a page, please use the "move" link at the top of the page. This is the only proper way to rename a page. Thank you. Pegasus «C¦ 05:25, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

In addition, you confuse people when you do not use the "move" link - now I cannot even find the new page title you "moved" to. Please reply here where you "moved" the page to, so that the damage you did can be fixed. Thanks. Pegasus «C¦ 05:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:AFAlogo.jpg}

Thank you for uploading Image:AFAlogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Encyclopedia of Cajun Culture

Dear Sf46,

Hi, I see you undid my deletion of the reference to the Encyclopedia of Cajun Culture (www.cajunculture.com) in the sources of the Acadiana article.

Actually, I'm the owner/editor of the Encyclopedia of Cajun Culture, and I recently took down the Encyclopedia because it was obsolete and too time-consuming to operate.

However, I still use the domain name cajunculture.com, but instead of the Encyclopedia, it merely lists my published books. (I.e., it's not the Encyclopedia anymore, just my book promotion page instead.)

So if you could reinstate the deletion of the Encyclopedia of Cajun Culture as a source for the Acadiana article, I'd appreciate it. Sincerely, --Skb8721 (talk) 03:27, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright violation in Image:LAgameWardenPlate.jpg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:LAgameWardenPlate.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:LAgameWardenPlate.jpg is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:LAgameWardenPlate.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Obama / KKK

Please do not add stuff about the KKK to Barack Obama's biography. It may have some relevance in the related campaign article, but certainly not in the main article. -- Scjessey (talk) 20:00, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately, Wikipedia cannot accommodate the gullible stupidity of Americans just because of silly internet rumors. You cannot put this in the article for the same reason that you cannot put "Obama is not a Muslim" and stuff like that. Another reason is that doing so would be a case of undue weight, insofar as the fact that it isn't very important in the context of Obama's entire life. -- Scjessey (talk) 20:14, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:KY-Beshear-Steve.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:KY-Beshear-Steve.jpg.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Tom (talk - email) 20:21, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
