[edit] About Me
Basically, I'm one of the good guys who is devoted to making Wikipedia better instead of destroying it. Though I'm pretty solid on some issues, I try not to inject POV into articles and I'll call others on it when I see it.
Recently, I have begun parallel work in Wikiquote. See my profile here.

[edit] Quotations
Men of most renowned virtue have sometimes by transgressing most truly kept the law.
Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of man, that state is obsolete.
~Rod Serling, The Obsolete Man
There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.
The history of science shows that a paradigm, once it has achieved the status of acceptance and regardless of its failures, is declared invalid only when a new paradigm is available to replace it. Nevertheless, in order to make progress in science, it is necessary to clear the decks, so to speak, of failed paradigms. This must be done even if this leaves the decks entirely clear and no paradigms survive.
There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit.
~Ronald Reagan, First Inaugural Address
Cynics regarded everybody as equally corrupt... Idealists regarded everybody as equally corrupt, except themselves.
When idealism meets reality, it's rarely reality that backs down.
~ Michael Liberty
Communicating badly and then acting smug when you're misunderstood is not cleverness.
They say music can alter moods and talk to you
But can it load a gun up for you and cock it too?
~Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Sing for the Moment
Everything about Battlefield Earth sucks. Everything. The over-the-top music, the unbelievable sets, the terrible dialogue, the hammy acting, the lousy special effects, the beginning, the middle and especially the end. God above, it's bad. Sweet baby Jesus, it's bad. By all that is holy and sacred on the Earth, this is a bad, bad, bad film.
~Movie critic Jonathan Ross on Battlefield Earth
The drill is getting too hot from all the hippies!
Damn you and your proof!
~The Gord
The problem with Wikipedia is that it only works in practice. In theory, it can never work.
