[edit] Edit summary usage

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. The Sunshine Man

[edit] Tag-Teaming New XBLA Titles

Seems like we're running in the same general circles in Xbox Live Arcade titles, among others. JAF1970 15:35, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Hah yeah, I noticed too. You did a great job on Pac-Man Championship Edition by the way, very good article in such a short period of time. SeanMooney 22:52, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
It was easy. :p Anyway, I have a page coming on a press-embargoed game coming up. That is, I'm not allowed to make a peep on it until it's released. JAF1970 16:36, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Microsoft Point currency symbol

I've replaced almost all references to Microsoft Points with Image:Microsoftpoint.gif. Clicking on it will have a link to Microsoft Points anyway. I did it for a few reasons:

  • It's space saving
  • It looks better
  • It's the official Microsoft symbol - may as well use it.

[edit] Earth No More

A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Earth No More, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] Upcoming games for Xbox Live Arcade

Moving the entire upcoming list to Upcoming games for Xbox Live Arcade had one huge benefit - 49 references moved along with it, so the XBLA page has shrunk considerably from that ALONE. (grin) JAF1970 18:36, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pac-Man CE debacle

Sean, can you please come to the Pac-Man CE discussion. Can you PLEASE explain to this loon that his "edits", claiming I'm making a "game guide" with "easter eggs" and "quirks" - when it's basic info.

I mean, his idea of "fixing" the article is, for example, just listing the names of the modes. Does "Extra Mode 1" and "Extra Mode 2" tell the reader anything? Does he understand the Assessment Scale?! JAF1970 00:54, 26 June 2007 (UTC)

Sean, I hate to bother you, but JAF has already threatened to drag you back into the discussion over on Talk:Pac-Man Championship Edition. I have requested mediation on Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts for this dispute mainly because, after attempting to resolve our personality clash on JAF's talk page and failing, he has (in my opinion) essentially declared himself owner and protector of the content on that article. After getting after me for not surfacing issues for discussion, he has adamantly refused to discuss any issues I have brought up since, and has said that he will revert any content deletions I make in the future. In my opinion, this is only going to hurt matters more and ultimately hurt the project he seems so dedicated to protecting. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 05:18, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
FYI, this dispute has escalated to the point where I've requested arbitration. When appropriate, I'd like to invite you to weigh in on the issue. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 20:51, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] They were published by microsoft game studios

it's true in a deal with burger king they published 3 gamesMarioman12 22:43, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Calm down

I enjoy your williness and to make the microsoft game studios game better but, alot of the claims you have made are untrue like announced games banjo kazooie 3 has not had a year announced ande project sylpeed is not a microsoft games studios game thank you for all your hard work but take a break from the page so I can fix the things you did wrongMarioman12 17:00, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Actually no, every edit I made WAS true. Project Sylpheed is a Microsoft Game Studios game - they published it in the US. The official website for the game is hosted on microsoft.com, if you do a search for Microsoft on ESRB.com you will see Project Slypheed listed there, if you checked out the Wikipedia page for Project Slypheed you'd see it listed there in the very first sentence. If that is not enough, here are a bunch more sources listing it: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5].
As for Banjo-Kazooie 3 being a 2008 title, here is a quote from Shane Kim (the Vice President of Microsoft Game Studios) [6]:

"The next Banjo Kazooie title that's coming next year is obviously one that we've announced, but they're also working on some other things."

The Xbox press site [7] also lists Too Human, Fable 2, and Halo Wars as 2008 titles - download the press kits and read the fact sheets for yourself. And for Fable 2 specifically, I've heard the words right out of Peter Molyneux's mouth during his E3 2007 demonstration of the game (which there are many videos of by the way), and here is the official website listing the game as 2008 [8]. But to avoid this confusion, all of the future games should just be grouped together as "Upcoming". SeanMooney 22:25, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Music games and their track lists

Hi Sean. In response to your recent edit on Boom Boom Rocket, we started up a discussion in WikiProject Video games about whether track lists should be included in music-game articles. I argued that the track lists should be treated the same as, say, lists of race tracks and cars in racing games, lists of teams or players in sports games, etc., and that they should not be included. (Any particularly notable tracks could be called out in prose, but otherwise we don't need an exhaustive list.) We're moving toward consensus on this issue, so I wanted to let you know about the discussion and ask for your input. :) The discussion is here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games#Music games and their track lists . Thanks! — KieferSkunk (talk) — 22:28, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Source for Rez/Chessmaster release

I'm curious as I've seen nothing yet that confirms these releases for Jan 30 - there's no page at the xbox.com site for either, and no news announcements have been made in the last few days. (It's more I'm anxious for Rez and just want to make sure about that) --MASEM 14:51, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately no other sites have posted this yet (probably because it's the weekend) so I can't provide a link. All I can say right now is that I'm 100% confident about this. Unless something changes last second these will infact be the January 30th games. Sorry for jumping the gun, i am also excited for Rez. I expect this news will be posted elsewhere fairly soon, but feel free to revert my edit until then. SeanMooney (talk) 10:56, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Whew

Added the Reception section, DS screenshot, etc to Brain Challenge. Let me know what you think. :p JAF1970 (talk) 07:17, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Great job! The page was only recently created and has come such a long way in a very short time. SeanMooney (talk) 07:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
I know. I created it :p JAF1970 (talk) 14:50, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Assault Heroes 2

Added info and screenshot to AH2. I skimmed the preview, though - add anything I may have left out. JAF1970 (talk) 20:49, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and reuploaded the logo with one with a white background. JAF1970 (talk) 20:53, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Looking for help to improve Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Hi, I noticed that you edited the article Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare recently and I am just letting you know that I plan on working on the article over the next few weeks in order to bring it up to Featured Article status. If you have time, please consider helping out with the article by improving the referencing, content, and other miscellaneous activities in order for the article to meet the standards set out at WP:WIAFA. [edit] 24 WikiProject

Hello there, I see you are on the 24 WikiProject. It's been quite dead for some time now, and me personally, I intend to revive it. I considered maybe even a 24 Portal, i see the project founder hasn't been on Wikipedia for nearly a year. What are your thoughts on the project? Are you still interested in it? And would you help revive it? Let me know, I would intend to help out a lot, maybe "take over" the founders position, well not take over, but possibly help lead the project? Was just a thought and I wanted your input. My talk page would be the best place. Cheers, Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 19:46, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Note, the above message is what Steve Crossin asked me to say to you. The Helpful One (Review) 18:48, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to WikiProject 24

Hi there, SeanMooney, and welcome to WikiProject 24! I'm sending you this message to welcome you to the project and I hope that I will be seeing you around on the WikiProject very soon. Please feel free to have a look at the main page of the WikiProject, located here and make discussions here. I hope that you can help to improve the 24 related articles on Wikipedia and have a nice day! Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 02:37, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Martha Logan passed GA

The article, Martha Logan, part of the 24 Wikiproject, has passed Good Article review, and is now listed as a Good Article.
To all who helped with this article, thank you.. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 10:51, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Revamping of Lists

Just wondering, I thought maybe we should make those tables collapsible? I think it would tidy the articles up quite a bit. And thanks for helping out :) Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 00:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Either way would be great, but it just seemed slightly long. I collapsed the cast list on 24 (TV series) by default, as it was so long. Also, have you seen our article discussion page? It's in the links box on the welcome template I sent you. :) Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 01:44, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 24 Wikia

I've seen your name on 24 Wikia quite a lot. I really think I could use your help in a very big way. Do you mind if we have a discussion at some point, I saw on your 24 Wikia page about the 24 Official Magazine, do you have any of the magazines still? Additionally, you may be aware many characters have been merged, including characters like Marwan and Noah Daniels. I really could use help finding sources for these articles, and any help you could provide, I'd be very appreciative for. If you could post me a message on my talk page, I'd like to discuss this further. Thanks, Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 13:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Ahh, I see. Well there was a user with your username on 24 Wikia, so I thought you were the same person. Anyway, have you noticed SteveCrossinBot? It's been fixing up some 24 articles :) Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 22:28, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Merger Discussion

The article, Lisa Miller, part of the 24 Wikiproject, is currently under discussion for proposed merging.
Feel free to discuss the merger on the Merger Discussions page.. SteveBot (talk) 11:23, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chase Edmunds

You know this article, Lan Di got a bunch of sources from Lexis Nexis, and emailed them to me, in addition to sources for Edgar Stiles. We will work on the others at some point, but for now, would you mind I email them to you? I could use a hand rewriting these articles, I practically did Martha Logan mostly myself. And I replied on the merger discussions page. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 12:06, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

You have email. Not including the attatchments, I need a reply first. Wikipedia doesn't allow to send attatchments. Gotta get a reply, then I can do it through my email client. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 04:46, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Y Done You have email. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 06:02, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Great, thanks for getting to work on Chase. I'd help, and I probably will, but at this time, just a bit busy with MedCab. Thanks again. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 08:05, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bill Buchanan

Just saw the tag, agreed, its excessively too long. I'll convert the tag to 24MultipleIssues. Also, do you think you could give me a hand cleaning up the plot? Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 10:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Sure. I'm not the greatest writer but I'll try at condensing and rewriting things and adding sources.SeanMooney (talk) 11:19, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Wonderful. How about, we work on a section each, so we don't edit conflict? Shame, I can't use the "im not a good article writer" excuse (not that you did say that), cos, well, this. :) Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 11:25, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

I'll probably start with season 6 first since that's the longest section and in need of most cleanup. Hopefully by the time we're done it'll be as good as Martha Logan! :) SeanMooney (talk) 12:24, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Heh, well, Martha Logan IS Good (pokes Good Article status :)). Anyway, I'll have a look in a moment, I'm rearranging my talk page archives (ugh). Won't be too long. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 12:42, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Barnstar

The 24 Wikiproject Barnstar
For your continued work on the 24 articles, I give you the 24 Barnstar. There's no doubt you've earned this, especially your work on 24 (season 7), as well as Chloe O'Brian, Tony Almeida, etc etc. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 05:49, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Golf TiU GP.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Golf TiU GP.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

[edit] Minor CTU agents in 24

There's a current change to an article that I feel should have the discussion of the whole Wkiproject. It's the article above, the old version is this and the new version is the current version. I think some discussion on which version would be best would be wise in this situation. Feel free to discuss this on the article talk page. Thanks, SteveBot (owner) 21:21, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Call of Duty Platforms

Hello there. I don't think it's appropriate to add PS2 or DS to the Call of Duty: World at War article based on that article from last month. It was given in a conference call, not a press release. No other source references DS or PS2. If you find one that does, please add it. Otherwise, I think it can be put under speculation. Fin© 14:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
