Samuel Vetch
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Samuel Vetch (December 9, 1668, Edinburgh, Scotland – April 30, 1732) was an Scottish soldier and former colonial governor of Nova Scotia.
Francis Nicholson blamed Vetch for the loss of Nova Scotia during Queen Anne's War to the French due to his poor command. Vetch later served under Nicholson when he retook Nova Scotia, after which he became the governor of the colony. Vetch was often criticized as a self-serving and ineffective administrator.
