Paul Mascarene

Paul Mascarene, (c 1684 – 22 January 1760), was a lieutenant-governor of Nova Scotia acting for governor Richard Philipps from 1740-1749. A new governor, Edward Cornwallis took over in 1749.
Having previously served in a French regiment in English service, Mascarene was commissioned Captain in the newsly-raised Philipps' Regiment of Foot (later the 40th Foot) in 1717.
