[edit] Notability

Richard Daughty is the creator and writer of a popular financial newsletter which is red daily by a significant number of investors. His newsletter The Mogambo Guru is frequently quoted in the financial press and in other financial fora. Since The Mogambo Guru has an article on Wikipedia, wouldn't it be natural that it's creator has an article too?

I have no other connection to Richard Daughty than reading his newsletter on a daily basis for an update on the markets. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hallvardo (talkcontribs) 17:42, November 29, 2007

No, actually, it wouldn't be natural that the creator of a notable newsletter (and the Mogambo Guru article hasn't yet shown that it meets the requirements of WP:Notability) is himself notable. The creator must still meet the standards of Wikipedia:Notability (people).
I've removed the speedy tag to give you (or anyone who cares to) a chance to improve the article and demonestrate that the subject meets Wikipedia:Notability (people) requirements. Please note that until the article shows some evidence of notability, deletion can still be requested by any editor -- this is not a permanent reprieve.
And just a friendly point of wikiettiquette -- please sign your talk page posts (but not articles) with --~~~~. (You can get this easily by clicking on the button at the top of the edit screen that looks like a piece of signature). Thanks!--Fabrictramp (talk) 17:44, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
