I've proposed a rewrite here. Comments welcome. -- Robocoder (t|c) 22:38, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] One missing factoid

I think one thing that should be added (if known) is why the main character is apparently named after Chinese broccoli. And if that is indeed the case, when we could expect a Diego-like spinoff who will be named Bok choy. Ham Pastrami (talk) 18:29, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

The flaw in your logic is that Chinese dialect used in the show is Mandarin (not Cantonese); thus, jie lan would be the Romanization of 芥蘭 as pronounced in Mandarin. -- Robocoder (t|c) 06:33, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
...Which fails to explain why Kai Lan's surname is romanised in Cantonese pronounciation... But anyway, this is ultimately not a big deal. It's a kid's show. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 07:06, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps some marketing droid's decision that Chow was preferable to Zhou or Chou. -- Robocoder (t|c) 21:40, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] missing links

why did someone remove the external links? does anyone have a good justification for this? i will put them back in if someone cannot justify why LESS information should be made available. Daiv (talk) 17:43, 2 April 2008 (CST)

Thanks for pointing that out. I don't think the review is an appropriate source, but there is a Teri Weiss interview (a NickJr SVP) about the show that has some interesting content. -- Robocoder (t|c) 13:59, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
