[edit] License tagging for Image:Brendasong2.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Brendasong2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:01, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ravenonraven.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Uploading
If I upload an image, what licensing would a promo photo from a website be?
- Are you sure it's a promo photo? Most photos on website are not, to be a promo photo it needs to explicitly state that it can freely be used elsewhere for promotional purposes. If it is a promo photo then we will only use it if there isn't an alternative completely free image available. --pgk 19:48, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- The normal tag is {{promophoto}}, include a link to the source of the photo so it can be verified later if need be. --pgk 19:54, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright Images
HOw do you add a copyright tag to a image already loaded? Nationalboard 22:00, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Just click on the image, which will bring you to the Image Description Page; there will be a button "edit this page" (like there is on every page); click on it, then add the copyright tag in the box that comes up. To find what code to enter to make a given copyright tag, look at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. Hope this helps. JesseW, the juggling janitor 22:44, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Brendasong2.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Brendasong2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] WHAT SHOULD I DO
{{helpme}} Me and others have worked so hard on the Just Jordan page and the last person who edited it comes in and erases everything.Nationalboard 00:16, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Are you talking about this edit? It was vandalism and someone has already reverted it - so the article should be fixed now. You can check out Dealing_with_vandalism so you know what to do next time.--Commander Keane 00:23, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- That seems to have been taken care of. You can revert an article to a previous version by going to the history tab at the top of the page, click on the date of the version you want to restore, check it is correct, go to the edit tab and save this version. I hope that helps! -- lucasbfr talk 00:24, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:American Idol

[edit] Locking Articles
- I don't know, how, but the Just Jordan article needs to be temporarily locked from being edited by new or unregistered users. Nationalboard 13:23, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
- If you go to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection you can file vandalism report to have the article dealt with. If you g to the history and can find a user that consistently vandalises an article, Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism is the place to report the user. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 13:43, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
I have declined the request because there has been only a few cases of vandalism in the past two weeks. You may want to consider using WP:TT warnings on vandals. Reverts will also tell others at a glance which edits are acts of vandalism. Good luck. Xiner (talk, email) 15:48, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

This notice is to inform you that because many people have added their names to Wikipedia:WikiProject Pokémon#Participants but do not seem to be active, all names are being deleted in an effort to find out who is still truly interested in the project. [edit] Current characters of The Young and the Restless
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Current characters of The Young and the Restless, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Current characters of The Young and the Restless. [edit] Common names
Take a look at Wikipedia's common name policy. Krystal Carey's article should be titled Krystal Carey because that is her common name, not any married name she takes, therefore her article will be retitled Krystal Carey. Refrain from moving it again, especially in the way you did the move, which ate up most of that article's edit history. That edit history will need to be fixed. Also refrain from moving any other articles from their common names, of course. Flyer22 (talk) 17:30, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, Nationalboard. In addition to the note above, let me stress the importance of properly moving pages. Doing a cut-and-paste move like you did with Krystal Carey/Martin separates the article from the edit history, which in turns violates the terms of the GFDL, under which all content on Wikimedia projects are licensed. Specifically, the GFDL requires that all contributors be given credit, which is accomplished through the edit history attached to each page. Of course, if the edit history is on a redirect instead of the actual page, the authors of the article are not given credit, thus voiding the GFDL. If you have any questions, or if I haven't been clear enough, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 01:04, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
