- April 20 – IRL driver Danica Patrick became the first American woman to win an Indy event at the Indy Japan 300 at Twin Ring Motegi.[1]
- March 30 – Touring car driver David Leslie and team owner Richard Lloyd have been killed in an aviation accident in Kent, England.
- March 30 – Dani Pedrosa won the Spanish MotoGP race at Jerez. Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo finished second and third.[2]
- March 30 – In the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Denny Hamlin took his first win of the season at Martinsville Speedway. Jeff Burton's 3rd place gave him the lead in the points standings.[3]
- March 30 – Colin Turkington and reigning champion Fabrizio Giovanardi shared the race wins in the first round of the 2008 British Touring Car Championship season.[4][5]
- March 30 – Scott Dixon won the first race of the new IndyCar Series season. The former champion started in pole position and led 67 of the 200 laps.[6]
- March 17 – Jeff Burton won NASCAR's Sprint Cup race – the Food City 500 – at Bristol. It was the first 1-2-3 finish for Richard Childress Racing.[7] The Nationwide Series race was won by Clint Bowyer. Kevin Harvick still leads the standings.[8]
- March 17 – Garth Tander won all three races in last weekend's V8 Supercars series round at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia.[9]
- March 16 – Team Penske's Porsche RS Spyder won the 56th running of the 12 Hours of Sebring sportscar enduro and ended Audi's run of eight consecutive wins in the event, which is a round of the ALMS.[10]
