Michael Smith (born August 1, 1979 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an NFL reporter for ESPN. In addition to being an NFL reporter, Smith is a senior writer for ESPN.com . He is a regular guest on the channel's Around the Horn. He has won "Facetime" on Around the Horn 80 times (as of August 14, 2007). He has also written for the Boston Globe.
Michael Smith joined ESPN full time in September 2004 as an NFL reporter and a regular on Around the Horn. Smith covered the New England Patriots at the Boston Globe for three years. He has also been a guest on Mike and Mike in the Morning.
Smith is also a writer for ESPN the Magazine where he specializes in NFL coverage.
Michael Smith attended Loyola University of New Orleans.
