Margaret May

Margaret Ann May (born 30 June 1950), Australian politician, has been a Liberal Party of Australia member of the Australian House of Representatives since October 1998, representing the Division of McPherson, Queensland. She was born in Ba, Fiji, and was educated at Seaforth TAFE College in Sydney. She was a financial administrator with the New South Wales Department of Education 1982-88 and an electorate secretary before entering politics.
She defeated her Labor challenger local Councillor Eddy Saroff at the 2007 Federal Election. She has been appointed by Opposition Leader and Leader of the Liberal Party Brendan Nelson into the Outer Shadow Ministry as Shadow Minister for Ageing.
