[edit] Boundaries
This is now considered to be Labour's safest seat in Manchester, including as it does the overspill area of Blackley, and the deprived inner-city area of Harpurhey.
[edit] Boundary review
Following its review of parliamentary representation in Greater Manchester, the Boundary Commission for England recommended modifications to the existing Manchester Blackley constituency.
This seat forms one part of a new Blackley and Broughton seat with two electoral wards from Salford.
