List of Cyrillic letters

The Cyrillic letter lje (Љ, љ) was originally a ligature of Л and Ь and represents a palatal lateral /ʎ/, a sound similar (but not equal) to the palatalized alveolar lateral represented by the digraph ЛЬ /lʲ/. It is used in Serbian and Macedonian. It was invented by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić and corresponds to the Latin digraph Lj in Serbian and Croatian.
