  • Harishankar Parsai: Known for his works of satire that attacked the hypocrisy and corruption rampant in various walks of life.
  • Harivanshrai Bachchan (1907 - 2003): Madhushala (मधुशाला) 1935; Sahitya Akademi Award 1969 and Padma Bhushan 1976.
  • Hazari Prasad Dwivedi: (1907–1979), novelist, literary historian, essayist, critic and scholar; author of Banabhatt ki atmkatha, Punarnavaa and Anaamdas ka potha.
  • Hrishikesh Sulabh: Known for his plays written in 'bidesiya' shaili. He is known for the regional flavour of his writing. His published plays are Amli, Batohi, Mati Gadi (Adapted from samskrit play mrichchhakatikam)and Maila Aanchal (Adapted from a novel by Fanishwara Nath Renu). His Story collections include Pattharkat, Tooti ki Awaaz and Bandha Hai Kaal. He is also a regular columnist in Hindi magazine Kathadesh. His collection of articles on the subjects related to theatre is under publication by the title Rangmach ka Jantantra.
  • Hari Shanker Adesh: Well known for his poetry, songs, music, literature, and work he has done to promote Hindi. He has the distinction of being the first author in history to have written three epics, with more on the way. He is the author of the book Madiralaya. He is also the founder of Bharatiya Vidya Sansthhaan - the Institute of Indian Knowledge- dedicated to the propagation and promotion of authentic Indian Culture through the teaching of Indian Music,languages, arts, philosophy and other aspects of Indian knowledge.Bharatiya Vidya Sansthhaan has branches in Trinidad and Tobago, Canada, and USA.

On the level of language the work touches upon various realms of moods in the life of the people.sakshatkar:kaise ho taiyyar(career), Peer parai jane re(compilation of noted hindi writer Vishnuchandra sharma's memoirs), Urdu ke Shreshtha Vyangya ( best urdu satire), Pakistan ki charchit gazlein ( known pakistani gazals), Hira hai to damkega hi ( based on Ramgopal Shukla's poems, hindi poet of chattisgarh), Ghutan ( based on kashmeeri gazal poet Om Garyali).   • Shailendra Chauhan, contemporary Hindi writer, known for his analytic and sharp criticism of contemporary literature. His poetry collections include Nau Rupaye Bees Paise Ke Liye, Swetpatra, Aur Kitane, Prakashvarsha, Eashwar Kee Chaukhat Par. Other works include Nahin yah koee kahani nahin (short story collection); he also publishes a little magazine Dharati.

  • Yashpal (1903–1976), author of Jhutha Sach (The False Truth, 1958–1960) and Terii merii uskii baat
  • Yagya Dutt Sharma born on 18 Jan 1916, received Soviet Land Nehru Award for his novel "SHILANYAS" from Mrs. Indira Gandhi in 1967. He was also awarded with UNESCO award for his well famous novel named, "Hamari Dunia". Mr. Sharma wrote almost 58 novels, 12 critism, 2 poetry and 79 books on literature.
