[edit] A question about the Indexerbot template
Hi Krellis. I've got a question that you may or may not be able to answer: Talk:Adolf Hitler uses the User:HBC Archive Indexerbot/OptIn template to manage the archives, and all of a sudden it's gone haywire, listing a node-count limit exceeded. Do you have any idea what's causing the template to fail? Thanks for any help you may be able to provide. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 21:47, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

- Weird. I don't know what would have been causing that, but I'd guess maybe something funky under the hood of MediaWiki, since the template hasn't been changed in a while (and is, in fact, full protected). —Krellis (Talk) 12:17, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I don't know what you're talking about I didn't edit any pages
Got message saying my edit was removed, I've never edited anything on wikipedia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.27.190.29 (talk) 12:15, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- You specifically may not have, but at your IP address did. If you didn't do it, then simply ignore the message. If you do intend to edit Wikipedia (or even use it on a regular basis) you may want to create an account to avoid getting messages intended for other users of the same IP address. —Krellis (Talk) 20:56, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Indexerbot and subheadings
Hi Krellis. Do you know whether any support for subheadings will be added to the Indexerbot. It has been on the to-do list for a while, but I don't know if anything has been done about it. ~~ [Jam][talk] 16:05, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Nothing that I know of. I don't really have much (any) time to put into work on Wikipedia or the bots these days, other than to ensure that they keep running as-is without errors, so I can't say when the feature might be added. The code is GFDL licensed, and I'd be happy to look at and integrate patches, so if you (or someone else) are willing and able to put in the time on the feature, that would be great, otherwise, it's really anyone's guess as to when I might have time to look at it. —Krellis (Talk) 17:28, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] HBCAI creating Duplicate index entries from page moves?
I had posted this to the bot's talk page, but no response yet, so just pinging you here. I recently had the AIDS talk sub-pages moved into sequential archives (Talk:AIDS/NPOV dispute → Talk:AIDS/Archive 6, etc). It looked to have been properly done, but now the indexer bot is creating duplicate entries for all pages that were part of the move (6 and up,current archive). Is there something that needs to be adjusted that is causing the misfire? -Optigan13 (talk) 06:10, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- There's a problem with the way the indexerbot watchlists and/or caches pages, I think, when they get moved. I've seen it a couple of times but haven't really had a chance to look into it in great detail yet. I'll see if I can find some time to look into it more. —Krellis (Talk) 11:25, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Broken?
Seem that User:HBC AIV helperbot3 made it's last edit 00:13, 5 June 2008 (hist) (diff) m Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (1 IP & 2 users left. rm 24.137.126.230 (blocked 1 day by Jeepday (AO ACB)).) then stopped cleaning the page. Jeepday (talk) 00:37, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like it's working fine to me - there are a number of redundant copies of the helperbots, it's not uncommon for some of them to sometimes get to a bunch of work first in a row, making the others seem idle for a while. That doesn't mean they're not running, though. —Krellis (Talk) 11:23, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] HBCAI
I want to use the indexer bot for my archives. I currently use the system [[User talk:Legoktm/<Month> <Year>]]. How would i get it to make the archives for that? Thanks LegoKontribsTalkM 22:46, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- The bot doesn't support that type of archive naming automatically, you have to manually do it by creating multiple masks, one for each archive that you have. So you'd have
...|mask=User talk:Legoktm/March 2008|mask=User talk:Legoktm/April 2008|mask=User talk:Legoktm/May 2008|...for each month. Supporting this kind of format automatically is on the to-do list, but I don't really have much (any) time to devote to developing the bot these days, so I have no estimate of if/when it will get done. —Krellis (Talk) 15:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] HBCAI sortable durations
Hi, could you please take a look at User talk:HBC Archive Indexerbot#Sortable durations? --Kubanczyk (talk) 10:13, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Replied there (I really should redirect that here like I do the other bots I work on...) —Krellis (Talk) 15:34, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
