Joe Gatting (born 25 November 1987 in Brighton) is a professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Brighton & Hove Albion. Gatting attended Cardinal Newman Catholic School in Hove, followed by Brighton College.

Gatting is the son of former Brighton & Hove Albion defender Steve Gatting and nephew of former cricket captain Mike Gatting. He has come through the youth ranks with Brighton & Hove Albion scoring a hatful of goals for the youth team, Joe made his first team debut against Southampton on the 2nd January 2006.[1]

Gatting has also played for Sussex County Cricket Club's academy.

On the 13th September 2007, Joe joined Conference side Woking on loan for 3 months after finding first-team opportunities at the Albion difficult after the arrival of summer signing Nicky Forster.

Joe returned to Brighton in December and has once again found it difficult to find first-team opportunities. Joe is currently regarded as the fifth-choice striker at the club behind: Nicky Forster, Glenn Murray, Jake Robinson and Jonny Dixon.
