Jindera is a town in the central part of the Riverina and situated about 19 kilometres North from Albury and 32 kilometres south east from Walbundrie. At the 2001 census Jindera had a population of 956 residents.[1]

During the nineteenth century Jindera saw a substantial population of German Australians who had migrated to the Riverina in the 1860s, principally from South Australia.[2][3]
