Independent comics (or "indie comics" or "alternative comics") are comic books (or graphic novels) that are solely created by, produced, and distributed by a creator(s) without the aid of big comic book corporations, (such as Marvel or DC Comics).
This category should not be confused with the Alternative Comics category or the Underground Comix category which refer to the independent comic-book publishers.
