Alternative Comics is a U.S. independent graphic novel and comic book publisher, established 1993. Located in Gainesville, Florida, it is owned and operated by its founder, attorney Jeff Mason.

Alternative Comics is noted for having cartoonists such as Graham Annable, Gabrielle Bell, Nick Bertozzi, Rebecca Dart, Brandon Graham, Asaf Hanuka, Tomer Hanuka, Tom Hart, Dean Haspiel, Sam Henderson, Damon Hurd, K. Thor Jensen, James Kochalka, David Lasky, Jon Lewis, Matt Madden, Josh Neufeld, Joel Orff, Adam Sacks, Rick Smith, Dash Shaw, Jen Sorensen, Rich Tommaso, Robert Ullman, and Sara Varon in its stable of creators.
In addition to having many of its cartonists and publications nominated (and winning) multiple comics-industry awards, Alternative Comics has also established a reputation as a distributor for Xeric Foundation award-winners, such as Leela Corman, Derek Kirk Kim, Neufeld, Bishakh Som, Sorensen, Karl Stevens, Lauren Weinstein, and many others.
Alternative Comics is also a noted publisher of graphic novel anthologies such as 9-11: Emergency Relief, Hi-Horse, Hickee, Rosetta, and True Porn.
