YOU RETARD..it's not the fourth installment, it's the third you fat ox.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.255.148.130 (talkcontribs)

First, please be civil. Second, it is (or will be) the fourth, barring Chains of Olympus getting cancelled:
  1. God of War (2005)
  2. God of War II (2007)
  3. God of War: Chains of Olympus (2007)
  4. God of War III (2009 ?)

GOD OF WAR CHAINS OF OLYMPUS IS NOT GOD OF WAR III! It takes place before the first God of War.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 18:19, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Yes, but it's the third game to be made, mr. Fluffy. Thats what that sentence is based upon. - 209.244.16.199

That is true. but if you are going by installments that are on consoles than it is in fact the third game.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 13:34, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Technically the PSP is a console, just handheld. - 209.244.16.213 (Still MWU)

I'm pretty sure there is a difference between a handheld and a console. And if you want to get really technical than God of War 3 is the fifth game, I think there is one called God of War: Betrayal, but it is a mobile phone game.--Gundor Twintle Fluffy 18:24, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

There's a difference between a "handheld console" and a "home console", but they are both consoles. A mobile phone and a computer are not consoles, as they are not machines dedicated to playing video games. The numbers have nothing to do with chronology or release date, but which games the publisher wants to be considered the main installments, and which supplementary. See, for example, the interesting numbering choices made in the Resident Evil series (as compared to chronology or release date). Resident Evil 5 has yet be released, but when it does it will be (at least) the fifteenth installment in the series. JohnnyMrNinja 20:11, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
But you are right about God of War III being the fifth installment in the series. JohnnyMrNinja 20:13, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
This doesn't have anything to do with what you just posted, but is God of War: Betrayal based on the God of War storyline?--Kondrayus 21:46, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Yes, between I and II. It's about Kratos angering the gods because he's the cocky new god. [1] JohnnyMrNinja 04:17, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] no rumble function

the rumble function had to be removed from the sixaxis controllers because it interfered with the tilt sensors.

Meanwhile, the Wii has rumble AND can utilize accellerometers.--Yewyew 21:58, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

If you are saying that God of War 3 could be on Wii I agree. But if Sony intends to use all of the PS3's power on this game, than the Wii couldn't keep up.--Kondrayus 21:45, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The rumble part

Does anyone feel that the section about the rumble feature should be removed and put in an article such as History of video game consoles (seventh generation)? This article is about God of War 3 and that statement does not fit into god of war.--Kondrayus 21:50, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes it does, Barlog said that if rumble was put into teh SIXAXIS then they'd make the next game, and since the SIXAXIS has rumble now and Barlog confirmed it, that means that the rumble/SIXAXIS thing is apart of the game's production.Sam ov the blue sand, Editor Review 22:53, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Barlog is leaving SCEA!

I hope someone mentions this fact in the wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.108.123.81 (talk) 20:56, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
