[edit] Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup

Hi,

I am in the process of editing and re-writing the entry. I want to provide information on an environmental direct action that has been happening over the last 15 years across Canada. I noticed that the Vancouver Sun Run has such an entry so wanted to also write one up for GCSC. I do work for GCSC, but if you can help me edit it to be more neutral, I would love your help.

Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vancouver cigegret (talkcontribs) 22:26, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. I have re-created it with changes, can you advise if it still needs to be altered?? Thank you.--Vancouver cigegret (talk) 23:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Marc Abraham

Finngall, I need to talk to you about the deletion of the Marc Abraham biography that I posted earlier. It was deleted because it was found on the web site www.hollywoodjesus.com which mentions one of his movies, "Tuck Everlasting" and has Marc's bio as information on the producer. That bio was obtained from Marc Abraham's office and written by me, it isn't a problem that they have used it but it is hindering my ability to post an updated version of his bio on Wikipedia. What do you suggest I do?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.113.92.25 (talkcontribs)

[edit] Donray

Donray article was marked as spam. Why? He is a NY artist and those are real quotes by famous critics who are already on Wikipedia. Please help I hate being accused of advertisement. Drewhamilton (talk) 23:09, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello again? My "helpme" has been taken away. Do I write to you on my talk page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drewhamilton (talkcontribs) 23:16, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Normally the helpme tag should be placed on one's own talk page if they are requesting help. I've replied on your talk page. --Finngall talk 23:24, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I had to log out to make changes for some reason. I deleted the first quote from Ruth Bass cause she's not on Wikipedia but is a famous ArtNews writer nonetheless. I don't want to cut down the bibliography it's not like it's monstrously large. All those critics are famous. I looked a other artist entries before doing my own first one of course and most of them have extensive critical quotes and reviews. I hope this is fixed up. [edit] Frank Zagarino

Hello, Finngall. Do not hesitate to delete that article. Your allowed to delete it if you saw I was wrong. But remember once you start to create an article, not only you who are going to accomplish it! If you saw there's any mistake has been done on Frank article, why don't you provide those reference? Ok, no need to blame each other it's bettr to tell yah where I got that information. From IMDB, so it's allowed to write such a reference?--Muddyb Blast Producer (talk) 04:45, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

There's nothing you did in that article. I'm sorry to tell you that if I have not seen any movement in that article except "deletion tag". What your going to do with that article? You have to wait till the day which is going to be deleted, Cheers....--Muddyb Blast Producer (talk) 11:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Tex bronson

I have declined to speedy Tex bronson because fictional character do not qualify for A7 and only very obvious hoax are speediable, instead I have listed it for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tex bronson. Thank you. Jon513 (talk) 08:14, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stellar School System

I have edited the Stellar School System page. Could you please have a look and if its good enough now remove the advert tag. If you think its still not alright let me know what needs to be done. Thank you!

[edit] Alta Lift Truck Services, Inc

Hi, you placed a COI tag on this page last week, and I was hoping you could elaborate there in the talk page. I believe the page uses neutral language and does not appear slanted. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

[edit] List of FIP events

(Sorry, I dont know where to put my answer)

Hi, I`m from Peru..I speak spanish and I speak english too but so-so, well, I saw the page "Lis of ROH events", Then I began to create pages as List of ECW events, CZW events, JAPW events, PWG events, and, (of course) FIP events, all the information of the official events I have removed them of the official pages of the organizations, in the list I have placed events that has a "Title", excluding thus the House Show. The idea to help to create these pages due to that Ring of Honor had this type of pages and these companies not. Good I thought to go improving it little by little, but if Wikipedia thinks that the page should not be, then that be eliminated. There is not problem with me, greetings, Eric

[edit] Moving stuff around

I noticed that you had asked User talk:Arunvroy not to move an article. I am having the same problem with him. A third party pointed out that an article could be locked against moves while it is being discussed. I would do this myself if I understood the problem better. My axe is simply to try to get his attention which might happen if he couldn't do something he wanted to do! :) Student7 (talk) 20:56, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Livin It Up

[edit] Field Days and Clubs Days.

Thinking about it would you delete the 'Field Days' page and I'll expand the 'Club Days' page to discusses this whole theme of village celebrations in northern England.

[edit] Stanley Franks

Yep, AfD is fine for that, and as you say he probably fails the WP:ATHLETE guideline. Persons who have been signed to a professional sports team aren't really speedy candidates since their very signing is an indication that they might be notable. I doubt it will survive AfD.--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 20:06, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sister Ruth Dixon

"Sister Ruth" Dixon has been recreated as Sister Ruth Dixon per the request of the author. However, even with my edits I cannot find anything which will keep this article alive. Cheers! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 13:01, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] prods

I see you have PRODed a number of fictional character--wouldnt they be better changed to redirect to the show or a list of characters for the show? They appear to be reasonable search terms. DGG (talk) 14:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Paul Traub of Traub Bonaquist n Fox

The suggestion by you of personal attacks being banned is not entirely correct. The Wiki item states that one cannot have unsourced or Poorly sourced articles

Everything stated in the TBF report was True.

It also sourced the Online Affidavit.

If it makes you feel better, I can testify to the items under penalty of perjury on here as well. It is our case, but it is Your System of Justice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Laserhaas (talkcontribs)

Your statement of mindset on the policy of Wiki, that being that no article can be started by anyone "connected" to the issue, as such is a conflict of interest, is an Illogical statement.

No one is going to post any item that is not of their interest!

If you have any interest in Justice, of an issue of National importance, you would seek to have another investigate the facts and post them (if your inference is true and correct).

The explanations and how to's of Wiki is a learning experience. To threaten persons with explusion, is dishearting to say the least.

eToys went public for $8bn and broke a year later with no investigation. The powers that be behind the saga are so staunch and high up, that key Dept of Justice persons resign, rather than prosecute and the L A Times reported on the disbanding of the Public Corruption Unit with threats against career prosecutors, if they didnot keep their mouths shut.

Even the WSJ reporters were ordered OFF The story after we discovered that the US Attorney in Delaware was a partner with the law firm in 2001, that confessed to filing false affidavits and decpetions of the court in 2001.

You are stating, in essence, because no one else has the chutzpah to state the story, that I should refrain and keep silent.

It is such apathy and willful deaf ears that permits cronyism, corruption and manifest injustice in the first place.

Is it NOT enough for you that my website shows Online, that it is all stated Under Penalty of Perjury, my allegations against the Dept of Justice.

If I am willing to put myself in harms way, taking on the Giant of the DOJ, having paid an aweful price of demise of career and more

can you be such an administrator as one who would condemn the truth, under color of policy?

[edit] good patrolling

You're doing good patrolling! A hint: you might want to consider leaving people a link to WP:BFAQ in appropriate cases--what it says is actually helpful when its a question of G11 or non-notable companies or copying a web site--more I think than the standard tags.. Just one thing--Please use the recreation of deleted material tag only when the material was deleted by AfD or other XfD, not when it was merely someone putting back an article that had previously been speedied. Just use the same tag as before that applies to the situation. The deleting admin will check the history, see the previous attempts, and consider whether further action is necessary in addition to the deletion. And of course don't pay much attention to comments like the above--see WP:DENY. DGG (talk) 23:04, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Broadjam Article

Hello Mr Finngall (of Manx descent)

I put the Broadjam page together because there wasn't one. While I can't argue that it may at times seem 'advertisement-like', I assure you that is not my intention. In point of fact, it states some simple facts about the service that Broadjam offers.

In preparation for writing the article I used Last.fm as a guide. I don't believe that the article for last.fm is very different in quality, or content, than that for Broadjam.

Lastly, since there was no current article for Broadjam I felt that it deserved one, it being a very popular service to starving musicians (such as myself), and so I went ahead and created one using whatever knowledge was available.

If you could perhaps be so kind as to make some notes on the Broadjam article's talk page as to what it is lacking, and what needs to be done to get it into a 'fit state'.

Thank you! sugarfish (talk) 03:26, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] please assist in updating an article

Hello Finngall,

Recently you deleted the articles I have created (ReaSoft Converter; PDF Printer ReaSoft) under the criteria of speedy deletion. Probably this has been done because the artice seemed to be adrvertising, though I didn't want to make that impression. By now I reviewed them and deleted all the material which may sound advertising. Now they sound neutral. Please tell me if I have a chance to publish them now. What are the steps that I should take to publish them in Wikipedia.

Thank you,

Looking forward to hearing from you soon

[edit] Help

HI, I was trying to create the article, "Steve Friess" and it keeps getting deleted and I don't understand why. Other journalists who write for well known publications are included on wikipedia, but before I have time to explain this it is being deleted. How many first page articles does a person need to be considered 'notable'?--Coffeegirlyme (talk) 21:47, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Music of Oregon

Put down that mallet and let me know if you have any ideas for this article. Especially in the realm of Classical and any other random crap you can stir up in your brain from the 1970s and '80s... Can't let the article suffer from recentism and systemic bias... Katr67 (talk) 21:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] INFORMS List of Publications

Greetings,

My 5/29/08 List of INFORMS Publications posting, along with pages for our scientific society's individual journals, was blocked and removed with reasons given as conflict of interest, copyright infringement, and blatant advertisement.

I am the INFORMS Director of Communications. I posted these pages relying on the model of our sister society IEEE in their List of Publications at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_IEEE_publications. The IEEE page also appears to have been posted by a society staffer in a nearly identical way to mine. Please let me know how I can apply the guidelines so that INFORMS, like IEEE, complies.

Thanks. BarryList 14:40, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Help

Please do not take this whole experience personally, and please don't think that we don't want you around. The fact that this account was blocked had nothing to do with your contributions--it was solely because the name was considered a violation of the username policy. I do hope you'll continue to contribute here--you are absolutely free to start a new account under a new name. I know that for a "free encyclopedia" it seems like we have a lot of rules around here, but it's all in the interest of making this the best encyclopedia it can be. If you do create a new username, please shoot me a message on my talk page and I'll send back a welcome message that contains many useful links on Wikipedia's policies and procedures. If you want to respond to me here on this page, that's cool too--while the account is blocked for editing articles, you can still leave messages here. Thanks, and take care. --Finngall talk 19:31, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
