Fbv65edel is taking an extended wikibreak due to school and will be back on Wikipedia whenever he can. I'm going to try a lot harder this year to focus on school — last year I let Wikipedia interfere with my work. I just need to let it come second. I'll be semi-active. |

[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:HPAFD
A tag has been placed on Template:HPAFD requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes.

Thanks for uploading Image:HogsmeadePoA.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. New York City Meetup

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, and have salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects (see the last meeting's minutes).
Well also make preparations for our exciting Wikipedia Takes Manhattan event, a free content photography contest for Columbia University students planned for Friday March 28 (about 2 weeks after our meeting).
In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

I noticed you are listed to help people in designing their user pages.
Well, I need help with a similar type of thing - graphics editing.
I'm preparing to coordinate this:

and for it I'm developing some awards. Each award will include an image, and that's where I need help...
I've got to have all the awards done by July 15th, and I don't even have the first one finished yet.
I'm looking for someone who knows how (or is interested in jumping in and learning how) to work on images in xcf format using GIMP, or Inkscape, etc. (Because I and others will need to be able to edit each image's layers after you are done with it).
If this sounds like something you are interested in helping with, please drop me a note.
By the way, both GIMP and Inkscape are free, making it easy to get started from scratch.
