Quiroga began his footballing career at Newell's Old Boys in the Primera Division Argentina in 1997. In 1998 he was signed by Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, playing for them between 1998 and 2004, with a season long loan at Italian side Napoli in 2000-01.
