Ricardo Miguel Moreira da Costa (born May 16, 1981 in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal) (pron. IPA[ʁi'kaɾdu 'kɔʃtɐ]) is a Portuguese football player who currently plays as a central defender for VfL Wolfsburg.

Costa is a product of Boavista FC's youth system, although he moved to FC Porto when he was still an apprentice. He made his debut for the Porto first team in a 2002 derby match, precisely against Boavista.

In July 2007, as first team opportunities appeared few at Porto, he joined Bundesliga's VfL Wolfsburg.

He played for Portugal at under-21 level and was also a part of the Olympic team that played in Athens 2004. He was called up to the first team squad for the 2006 World Cup. he was not named in the EURO 2008 23 man squad
