In bold are articles that I have started. In red are articles that don't exist yet, hence your help would be very valuable. I plan to attend to all of these, plus 5-10 others within the next 2 years. Clean project spaces: /project1 • /prject6 • Links and text that needs work.
I only have occasional pictures, so you would better enjoy ones by professionals (e.g. by User:Diliff).

Q: If I wished to propose the deletion of smth, where would I start?:Dc76 17:19, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
- A: There are actually lots of Wikipedias, one for each language. Votes on creating or deleting wikipedias are taken outside the Wikipedia. For creation, the reason is obvious: it doesn't exist yet. To take the vote in just one language Wikipedia would hardly be fair to the others. Think of wikimedia as the master project that owns all the Wikipedias, and some other projects too (like wictionaries). [1] is the general place for closing projecs, while [2] is the master index to all proposals. Notinasnaid 19:47, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Q: I have moved page B to page A. But now if I want to move page C to page B, it is not possible b/c "page B already exists" (contains the redirect message). I.e., how do I erase the redirect message?:Dc76
- A: Hint: You can go [to edit the] redirect page [page B] you just got redirected from by clicking the <page B> in the "(Redirected from <page B>)" message right below the page header. :-) --Illythr 00:09, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Q: Are my user page(s) (semi-)protected? How can I delete subpages in my userspace?:Dc76
- A: Check the protection log. If your subpages are protected, it will tell you when you edit each page. To see a list of all your subpages, click here. Unfortunately, only admins can delete pages. Which ones do you want me to delete? In the future, you can just add {{db-userreq}} to the top of your subpages that you want to be deleted (it's one of the many deletion templates). 'Q: How many wikipedians does it take to change a lightbulb?
- A: About 10 000, one changing lightbulb, other reverting him, other reverting the reverter, others joining in for discussion, others starting revert-war, others starting dispute resolutions, others leading arbcoms, doing RFCUs, RFC/Us, blocking, protecting pages, etc. In the end, the lightbulb isn't changed at all. The new consensus is that a candle will do just fine. (Due to: User:Suva).
Q: What is an "edit war"?
- A: This is when several editors rutinely undo each other's edits. There are two basic reasons why this happens. 1) There exist people who are paid to edit WP in order to promote someone's PR image, as it was in 2006 and part of 2007 on Transnistria, until the ArbCom interfered and stopped it. Before this intervention, it was one of the greatest Wikipedia edit wars. 2) Then, there exist Wikipedia Lamest Edit Wars, as in the case which lake gets the name "devil's lake". The basic argument in the dispute, on both sides, was: "mine is the best lake on earth, yours in a marsh".
I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.
Additional tips
Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
