Talk:Covington, Louisiana

I think the reference to "Chalmations" reflects a bias and nonneutral POV. The inclusion of the phrase about the accused arsonist being "from Chalmette" adds to this. Either this needs to be omitted (preferably) or the article should deal more in depth with the issue of problems facing people who recently moved or the unwillingness of the community to accept them (if applicable).
Do you live in this area? They call themselves "Chalmations" it is a self given moniker.Vesago1978 02:40, 4 November 2007 (UTC)jme1
[edit] St. Tammany parish
The people of St. Tammany do not think of them selves as people of New Orleans, even though most are one or two generations from that city. Anyone who is new to the Northshore can tell you that. the overall article acts as if the City of Covington has very little history. One of the things most people do not know about St. Tammany is that while is it has a small city limits the dozens of subdivisions are ringed around it , if you look at google earth for it you can see a huge number of houses outside of city limits. This overall gives the city a artifically low population, the truth is all the way to Mandeville is considered Covington, and to the north all the way to the unincorparated area of Bush on Hwy 40 noorth of Lee Road jr high school is also Covington.http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Covington,+LA,+United+States+of+America&sa=X&oi=map&ct=image Vesago1978 03:45, 23 September 2007 (UTC)jme1
