Ashitare (尾宿) is a character in the manga and anime series Fushigi Yūgi created by Yuu Watase.
Ashitare is a werewolf from Hokkan whom Nakago found in a circus tent. He was killed by Nakago after a battle between Ashitare and Nuriko resulted in Nuriko's death and Ashitare's broken neck and transformative near death experience. Nakago explains in the manga that Ashitare's human side was killed by Nuriko, but that his beast side took over and successfully stole the Shinzaho of the Genbu priestess, and delivered it to him.
